Clang, Clang, Clang Went the Trolley

Via Discovering NYC, here’s an 1898 DeKalb Avenue trolley with bicycles mounted on the front and back. Something to consider when people wonder why the MTA doesn’t put bike racks on buses. The demand has been there for a long time!

Am 1898 streetcar can handle bikes, but 21st century NYC buses can’t? This is supposed to be progress?
The trolley and the bikes in that photo kinda ruin the historic character of the neighborhood, ya know!
