Ride to Red Hook on Sunday
I’m putting together a tentative plan to ride to Red Hook to delivery supplies to the Red Hook Initiative on Sunday. Here are the details:
Sunday, November 11, 12:30 PM.
Meet on the corner of 5th Avenue and 9th Street in Park Slope in front of the Chase Bank.
I’m checking with the RHI to see what their needs are. Last week it was cleaning supplies and food, but the needs continue to evolve as the situation changes in Red Hook. Please stay tuned to this space for more information.

UPDATE 11/10/12:
The RHI needs juice boxes, take out containers, and sturdy plastic plates.
If you’re making hot food to bring, they’re especially in need of meats and protein.
Cleaning supplies are also still needed: paper towels, mops, sponges, gloves, rags, etc.

Do they need supplies or do they need people to bring the supplies and help? I’d love to help, but I’m more able to do “sweat equity” than donations.
I’m not quite sure how WordPress works, but I think you were responding to me, Evan, yes? If so, I’ll join you Sunday at 12:30 on the corner of 5th Av & 9th St in front of Chase Bank, empty-handed, and offer whatever back-breaking, bike-riding work I can.
I’ll be there.
Albert, they still need volunteers so you can ride down with us and hang out down there to find out what they need. Last week there was a line for volunteers and they assigned people as they needed. I’m sure there will be a need for someone to deliver supplies via bike.
Slight change in plans: Liz (see comment above) has graciously offered to keep me company on the ride in from Manhattan, so I’ll skip Park Slope and will see you in Red Hook as well.
